- Group takes another initiative towards the beautification of the city -
Yet another initiative towards beautification of Mumbai by Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., took off with the unveiling of a landmark structure in Worli, Mumbai.
The structure presented to the city by Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. was inaugurated
by its chairman Mr. Mohammed Lokhandwala at a gathering attended by bureaucrats,
media personnel and residents of the area.
The structure reflects a fusion of
a highly creative artistic mind and modern technology and has been painstakingly
designed by eminent sculptor Arzaan Khambatta. Created on semi-abstract, the
fifteen feet steel structure comprises of four cavorting dolphins lit up by
lights from beneath. The structure is bound to evoke feelings of awe and respect
and act as a testimony to Lokhandwala Builder's commitment of beautifying
the city.
Mr. Mohammed Lokhandwala said, "Mumbai
is home to a rich heritage. Architectural survivors from many eras, styles
and types line its streets. This majestic structure will add to the charm
of this beautiful city. And this day will remain a memorable one, not just
for me but also for the city."
Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration,
Mr. Moiz Lokhandwala, commented, "It has been my continued endeavour
to make beautiful homes and create picturesque neighborhoods. While we offer
quality residential properties, we believe that the surroundings make a lot
of difference to an area. Therefore, we decided to gift the city this first
of its kind structure."

After
having completed the rehabilitation of the slum dwellers, Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
took up the task of beautifying the area around the buildings. The construction
of garden beds across 2.5 lacs sq. feet of land.

This
initiative have brought them recognition in the eyes of all the residents in
this locality. People residing in Worli are seeing more greenery around their
homes and are convinced that Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. will change the face of Worli. "We had to cross puddles of stagnant water which was filled with mosquitoes,
now we keep our windows open during dusk without fear of a raid by mosquitoes",
said one resident.
Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. have successfully initiated a corporate drive for the beautification.
To make this dream come true they approached the corporate bodies to make them
realize their duty to the society. Corporates have now decided to maintain the
green belt.
Lokhandwala Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. have also initiated an extensive ' corporate adoption programme ' targeting
large industrialists and multinational companies to sponsor the beautification
of Mumbai.
